The South African Grid Code for Renewable Energy Plants is viewed as the law with regards to the standards of any alternative energy plant that will operate in parallel with the South African grid. This code is supported by two South African standards: NRS 097 (Grid Interconnection of Embedded Generation) and NRS 048 (Electricity Supply — Quality of Supply).

Together the goal of these regulations is to ensure the stability of the national grid and to protect the consumer from unwanted equipment damaged, caused by their own or other alternative energy plants that are connected to the network.

All of our systems are designed to comply with these regulations and we have the capability to assess the compliance of any alternative energy plant with these regulations. We therefore only use equipment that has been tested and certified to comply with these regulations as they are specific to our environment and electrical grid.
